Kokrine Hills Bible Camp is a ministry of the non-profit Alaska native organization, Koyukon Camp Ministries, Inc. The camp is located in the interior of Alaska, about 350 miles north of Anchorage and 225 miles west of Fairbanks on the Yukon River. The only way to get to the camp is by boat or floatplane. The camp is 55 miles upriver (east) of Ruby, and 65 miles downriver (west) of Tanana.
The camp was started in 1965 by Arctic Missions missionaries, Russ and Freda Arnold, when they were living in Ruby. Today, Roger Huntington, an Athabaskan Indian, is president of Koyukon Camp Ministries. In June & July, 30 to 70 campers come each week from up to a dozen Koyukon Indian and Inupiat Eskimo villages. Discipleship camps, work weeks, pastors conferences and marriage retreats round out the summer calendar. Our goal is to one day make KHBC usable year-round. .
